How secure is this?

We use AES-256-GCM encryption with a randomly generated key in your browser. The key is never sent to our servers - it stays in the URL fragment. This means we literally cannot decrypt your code, even under legal compulsion. It would take all the world's computers over 1,000 years to crack a single snippet.

Is my connection secure?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We enforce HTTPS on all connections - HTTP requests are automatically redirected. We also use HSTS (HTTP Strict Transport Security) which tells your browser to always use encrypted connections, preventing downgrade attacks. We also block AI training bots from crawling our site. Your data is protected in transit and at rest.

What happens to my code?

Your code is encrypted before leaving your browser and stored encrypted on our servers. When the expiration time is reached or view limit is hit, it's permanently deleted. We also offer "burn after reading" which deletes immediately after the first view. There's no way to recover deleted snippets.

Can I password protect snippets?

Yes! You can add an additional password layer on top of the encryption. You can also set custom expiration times (1 hour to never), view limits, and use syntax highlighting for 50+ programming languages. All features are free - no premium tiers, no ads.

Do you track anything?

Accepted Answer

We collect anonymous usage metrics (page views, feature usage) to improve the product. We don't use cookies or store anything in your browser - GDPR-compliant by design, no consent banner needed. We never record your screen, keystrokes, or session activity. Your snippet content is encrypted before it leaves your browser - we literally cannot read it, even in our analytics.
